Brewing news Uganda: Nile Breweries joins UBBA and re-launches an early 1990s competition

Nile Breweries have joined Uganda Body Building Association (UBBA) and launched the start of Mr. Uganda, a competition that was last held in the early 1990s, New Vision posted May 18.

The brewers, who sponsored Mr. Kampala where Nsubuga Kawuulu emerged victorious after beating Isma Mukalazi last November, have vowed to foot all the expenses for the event, which will climax with the winners competing for the national crown at Sharing Hall. Action is set for October 26.

"Body building depicts the values and personality of Nile. After seeing the success of Mr. Kampala, we looked at making it a national event as part of our commitment to support sports," said brand manager Robert Kigula.
